Here are Inside Bainbridge recommendations for the weekend of March 6-8, 2015:

1. Drew Kunz Exhibit
When: Friday, 5-7 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge Library, 1270 Madison Ave. N
Why: Kunz’s latest work features watercolor and folded paper.

2. First Friday Art Walk
When: Friday, 6-8 p.m
Where: Downtown Winslow
Why: Celebrate art and food in downtown.

3. “Duane Pasco & Friends: Respecting Traditions” Artist’s Reception
When: Friday, 6-8 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge Arts & Crafts, 151 Winslow Way East
Why: Pasco is a Contemporary Northwest Coast Native artist known for his carving. His exhibit features recent work including masks, panels, house poles, and bent corner boxes and is accompanied by the work of other contemporary Northwest Coast Native artists.

4. Award-Winning Exhibit “Ansel Adams: A Portrait of Manzanar” Reception
When: Friday, 5-7 p.m.
Where: BPA, 200 Madison
Why: The Bainbridge Island Historical Museum has installed its award-winning exhibit “Ansel Adams: A Portrait of Manzanar” in the BPA lobby to coincide with the run of Snow Falling on Cedars, which starts next week. The exhibit displays an ensemble of visual representations from the World War II era, including local images and artifacts from the Historical Museum, with selected items on loan from the collections of Frank Kitamoto, Mary Woodward, and David Guterson.

5. First Saturday Trunk Show: Helen Hecker
When: Saturday, 1-5 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (Museum Store), 550 Winslow Way East
Why: Bainbridge Island artist Helen Hecker’s trunk show features her iris fold spring-themed greeting cards, books, bookmarks, and boxes.

6. Climate Action Bainbridge
When: Saturday, 7 p.m.
Where: OfficeXpats (upstairs in the Pavilion), 403 Madison Ave.
Why: This monthly meeting focuses on climate change issues in our region. The topic will be the oil train campaign and how to help win back the state senate in order to get climate legislation passed. New members are welcome.

7. Experiential Eggs Benedict
When: Saturday, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Where: Heyday Farmhouse and Kitchen, 4370 Old Mill Road NE
Why: Gather local spring greens and then cook them up into breakfast. Chef Kerrie Sanson will show you how to poach eggs, create hollandaise sauce, and make English muffins. The food will be paired with fresh Heyday ham from pasture-raised pork

8. Pediatric Adult First Aid CPR and AED Class
When: Saturday, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Where: Red Cross Bremerton, 811 Pacific Ave., Bremerton
Why: This class is for beginners and for people needing re-certification.

9. Gallery Talk with Duane Pasco
When: Saturday, 12:30-1:30 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge Arts & Crafts, 151 Winslow Way E
Why: Pasco will talk about his Bainbridge Arts & Crafts exhibition.

10. Library U: Great Singers—Cesare Siepi
When: Saturday, 2 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge Library, 1270 Madison Ave. N
Why: Norm Hollingshead introduces you to basso Cesare Siepi with musical excerpts from his own collection of rare recordings.

11. Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA) Presents The EDGE Improv
When: Saturday, 7:30 p.m.
Where: BPA, 200 Madison Avenue North
Why: Have a laugh with the EDGE at their monthly performance.

Why: Bluegrass band Buckshot—Johnny Bregar, Peter Vosshall, Mike Derzon, and John “JJ” Jewell—have played at Folklife, The Tractor, amd The Bainbridge Island Harvest Fair.

13. BARN (Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network) Tour
When: Sunday, 1-3 p.m.
Where: BARN, 11272 Sunrise Drive NE
Why: Take a free tour of BARN and learn about tools and classes for woodworkers, jewelers, printmakers, and fiber artists.

14. Free Range Films: Sweet Honey in the Rock; Raise Your Voice
When: Sunday, 3 p.m.
Where: Ground Zero Center, 16159 Clear Creek Road in Poulsbo
Why: This 2005 television documentary produced for PBS’s American Masters series chronicles the history and music of Grammy Award-winning Sweet Honey in the Rock.

15. “Meet Your Soul” Book Party
When: Sunday, 3-5 p.m.
Where: Eagle Harbor Books, 155 Winslow Way
Why: Bainbridge author Elisa Romeo gives a short reading, answers questions, and signs copies of her book, which identifies “Sacred Practices to Honor Your Soul.”

16. An Afternoon with Duane Pasco
When: Sunday, 3-5 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge Island Museum of Art Auditorium, 550 Winslow Way E
Why: Pasco gives a lecture and slideshow on the Northwest Coast Native style of art, the history of his own work, and his techniques.

Admission is by donation.
